About the Journal

The International Journal of Microbiology Research and Review (IJMRR)  ISSN 2329-9800 is a scientific journal dedicated to the publication of original research and review articles related to the field of microbiology. While specific details about this journal might not be widely available, we can still outline some key aspects of typical journals in this field, and this will likely apply to IJMRR as well.

Key Characteristics of IJMRR:

  1. Scope: The journal typically covers a broad range of topics within microbiology, including:

    • Bacteriology: Study of bacteria, their classification, physiology, genetics, and pathogenicity.
    • Virology: Research related to viruses, their structure, replication, and impact on host organisms.
    • Mycology: Studies on fungi, including yeast, molds, and their role in disease and environmental ecosystems.
    • Parasitology: Research into protozoa, helminths, and other parasitic organisms, their life cycles, and effects on human and animal health.
    • Immunology: The immune response to microbial infections and the development of vaccines and treatments.
    • Environmental Microbiology: The role of microorganisms in various ecosystems, including soil, water, and the human microbiome.
    • Clinical Microbiology: The study of microorganisms that affect human health, including pathogens, antimicrobial resistance, diagnostics, and treatment.
  2. Types of Articles:

    • Original Research: Reports of new findings in microbiology, including laboratory experiments, field studies, and clinical trials.
    • Review Articles: Comprehensive overviews of specific topics or recent advancements in microbiology.
    • Short Communications: Brief reports on significant but preliminary findings.
    • Case Studies: Focus on unusual microbial infections, outbreaks, or novel microbiological phenomena.
  3. Peer Review: Like most reputable scientific journals, IJMRR likely follows a peer-review process where submitted manuscripts are evaluated by experts in the field before being accepted for publication. This ensures the quality and accuracy of the research presented.

  4. Impact: The journal might have an impact factor, though this can vary depending on its reputation, citation frequency, and the quality of articles it publishes. Journals in microbiology tend to have a good impact on the scientific community, especially in areas like clinical microbiology, biotechnology, and public health.

  5. Audience: The journal is typically aimed at researchers, scientists, medical professionals, educators, and students in microbiology and related fields. It may also attract interest from professionals in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, public health, and environmental sciences.

  6. Open Access: Some journals are open access, meaning that all published articles are freely available to the public. This enhances the visibility and dissemination of scientific knowledge. However, the journal’s publication model (open access vs. subscription-based) would need to be confirmed by checking its website or publishing details.

All articles published by this journal are made freely and permanently accessible online immediately upon publication, without subscription charges or registration barriers.

Also, authors of articles published in this journal are the copyright holders of their articles and have granted to any third party, in advance and in perpetuity, the right to use, reproduce or disseminate articles.

Article-processing charges

International Journal of Microbiology Research and Reviews levies an article-processing charge of $500 (USD) for each article accepted for publication. The journal does not charge a submission fee. Authors are required to pay the manuscript handling fee only after their manuscripts have been reviewed and accepted for publication by an editor. Authors can request a waiver or discount during the submission process as the journal routinely waive charges for authors from low-income countries.

ISJ offsets publication expenses – including the cost of peer review management, journal production, and online hosting and archiving – by charging an Article Processing Charge (APC), to authors, institutions or funders for each article published. This publication fees vary by journal and are payable upon article acceptance.

Peer-review policy

Peer-review is the system used by International Journal of Microbiology Research and Reviews to assess the quality of a manuscript before it is published. Qualified researchers in the relevant research area assess submitted manuscripts for originality, validity and significance to help editors determine whether the manuscript should be published or not.

International Journal of Microbiology Research and Reviews operates a double-blind peer-review system, where the reviewers of the paper won't get to know the identity of the author(s), and the author(s) won't get to know the identity of the reviewer. The advantage of double-blind peer review is that it eliminates bias.

Manuscripts submitted to this journal will generally be reviewed by two or more experts who will be required to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientifically sound and coherent, whether it duplicates already published work, and whether or not the manuscript is sufficiently clear for publication. The Editors will reach a decision based on these reports and, where necessary, they will consult with members of the Editorial Board.

Publication Ethics

International Scholars Journals (ISJ) is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and abides by its Code of Conduct and aims to adhere to its Best Practice Guidelines.

All journals published by ISJ are committed to publishing only innovative and original material i.e., material that has neither been published elsewhere, nor is it under consideration for publication by another publisher.
