1. Sample Paper

The Sample Paper policy serves as a guide for authors submitting manuscripts to the Global Journal of Cardiology. A template or sample paper is provided to assist authors in adhering to the formatting and structural guidelines set by the journal. This includes the arrangement of sections such as the title, abstract, introduction, methods, results, discussion, and references. Using the sample paper ensures uniformity across submissions and allows authors to focus on the content while following the journal’s technical specifications. Authors are encouraged to refer to the sample paper before submission to avoid any formatting issues that may delay the review process.

2. Participant/Patient Privacy and Informed Consent

The Participant/Patient Privacy and Informed Consent policy mandates that all research involving human participants must be conducted in accordance with ethical guidelines, including obtaining informed consent. Authors must ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained, particularly when publishing sensitive or identifiable information. All studies involving human participants should be approved by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee, and the authors must explicitly state that informed consent was obtained from participants. This policy protects the rights of individuals while ensuring that research meets ethical standards for publication.

3. Author’s Agreement Form

The Author’s Agreement Form is a crucial document that authors must submit to confirm their compliance with the journal's publishing policies. By signing the form, authors acknowledge that the submitted work is original, that they have obtained necessary permissions (if applicable), and that they agree to the terms of publication, including the licensing and copyright conditions. The form also outlines the responsibilities of authors regarding ethical issues, such as conflict of interest and authorship contributions. The agreement serves as a legal acknowledgment of the author's commitment to ethical publication practices.

4. Rights and Grants to the Author

The Rights and Grants to the Author policy stipulates that authors retain copyright over their work after publication. However, by submitting their manuscript, authors grant the Global Journal of Cardiology the right to publish, distribute, and reproduce the article in any form, including online and print formats. Authors are encouraged to select an open-access license, such as a Creative Commons license, which allows the work to be freely accessed, shared, and reused, with proper attribution. This policy ensures that authors retain control over their intellectual property while increasing the reach and impact of their research.

5. Data Sharing Policy

The Data Sharing Policy promotes transparency and reproducibility in research by encouraging authors to share the datasets underlying their findings. Authors are encouraged to deposit their data in publicly accessible repositories and include a link to the dataset in their publication. However, sensitive data, such as patient information, should only be shared if it is de-identified and with appropriate consent. The policy aims to enhance the credibility of research, facilitate the replication of studies, and contribute to the broader scientific community’s understanding of cardiology.

6. Human and Animal Rights Policy

The Human and Animal Rights Policy ensures that all research involving human or animal subjects complies with ethical standards. For human research, authors must state that their studies conform to the Declaration of Helsinki and that informed consent was obtained from participants. For animal studies, authors must adhere to national and international guidelines for animal welfare and must have received approval from relevant ethics committees. The policy ensures that both human and animal subjects are treated ethically and that their rights are protected during the research process.

7. Article Processing Charge (APC)

The Article Processing Charge (APC) is required for the publication of articles in the Global Journal of Cardiology. This charge covers the costs associated with the editorial and peer review process, typesetting, and online publication. The APC supports the journal’s open-access model, ensuring that published research is freely available to all readers. Authors are required to pay the APC after their article has been accepted for publication. In cases of financial hardship, waivers or reductions in the APC may be available upon request, particularly for authors from developing countries.

8. Withdrawal Policy

The Withdrawal Policy governs the conditions under which authors may withdraw their manuscript from the publication process. Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, withdrawal is only permitted under exceptional circumstances, such as significant errors or ethical concerns. Authors must submit a formal request for withdrawal, including a clear explanation. If the manuscript has already undergone substantial editorial work, withdrawal may incur a fee to cover the costs incurred by the journal.

9. Plagiarism Policy

The Plagiarism Policy ensures the integrity of research published in the Global Journal of Cardiology. The journal uses advanced plagiarism detection tools to screen submitted manuscripts for similarities with other published works. Authors are required to ensure that their work is original and properly cites all sources. If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the submission or review process, the manuscript will be rejected, and appropriate actions will be taken according to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

10. Licensing Policy

The Licensing Policy allows authors to retain the copyright to their work while granting the Global Journal of Cardiology the right to publish and distribute the article. Authors can choose from various licensing options, including open-access licenses such as Creative Commons licenses, which allow others to reuse, remix, and distribute the article with proper attribution. The policy is designed to ensure that authors maintain control over their intellectual property while promoting the open and unrestricted dissemination of their research findings.

11. APC Waiver Policy

The APC Waiver Policy offers financial assistance to authors who cannot afford to pay the Article Processing Charge (APC). Authors who come from low-income countries or face financial difficulties may request a waiver or partial reduction in the APC. Waiver requests are considered on a case-by-case basis and must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission. This policy helps ensure that researchers from diverse backgrounds have equal access to the opportunity to publish their work.

12. Errata, Retractions, and Corrigenda Policy

The Errata, Retractions, and Corrigenda Policy ensures that the journal maintains the accuracy and integrity of published articles. If significant errors are found after publication, authors may issue an erratum or corrigendum to correct the mistakes. In cases where ethical issues such as data fabrication or plagiarism are discovered, the article may be retracted. Retractions and corrections will be published to maintain the integrity of the scientific record, and authors will be given the opportunity to explain the reasons for retraction or correction.

13. Complaints Policy

The Complaints Policy provides a clear process for addressing concerns raised by authors, reviewers, or readers. If there are any issues with the editorial process, peer review, or other aspects of the publication, individuals are encouraged to submit a formal complaint. The editorial team will review all complaints and take appropriate actions to resolve the issues in a fair and transparent manner. The journal adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for handling complaints and disputes.

14. Submission of Manuscript

The Submission of Manuscript policy provides the guidelines for submitting articles to the Global Journal of Cardiology. Authors must submit their manuscripts electronically via the journal’s submission system and ensure that the manuscript complies with the journal's formatting and ethical guidelines. Submissions should include all necessary documents, such as ethical approval forms, conflict of interest disclosures, and data availability statements. The manuscript will undergo initial screening, peer review, and a final editorial decision before publication.

15. Open Access Policy

The Open Access Policy of the Global Journal of Cardiology ensures that all published content is freely accessible to readers worldwide. The journal follows an open-access model where all articles are published without subscription fees. Authors are encouraged to select an open-access licensing option, such as the Creative Commons license, which promotes unrestricted access to the published research. This model helps disseminate cardiology research widely, increasing its impact and visibility.

16. Copyright Policy

The Copyright Policy ensures that authors retain the copyright to their work after publication. By submitting their manuscript, authors grant the Global Journal of Cardiology the right to publish and distribute the article in print and online formats. Authors can retain the right to reuse their work in other publications or presentations, and they may grant third parties the right to use it under a Creative Commons license or other open-access licensing options.

17. Check List

The Check List is a comprehensive list of items authors must review before submitting their manuscript. It includes guidelines for manuscript structure, ethical considerations, required documents, and formatting requirements. Authors are encouraged to follow the checklist to ensure that their manuscript meets the journal’s submission standards and to streamline the review and publication process.

18. English Language Editing

The English Language Editing policy encourages authors to ensure that their manuscripts are written in clear, professional English. Non-native English-speaking authors are advised to use a professional editing service to enhance the quality of their writing. The Global Journal of Cardiology does not offer in-house language editing services but recommends third-party services. Manuscripts with poor language quality may be returned for revision before proceeding with peer review.

19. Digital Preservation

The Digital Preservation policy ensures that all published articles are securely archived for long-term accessibility. The Global Journal of Cardiology uses digital repositories such as LOCKSS and other archival services to preserve articles for future generations of researchers. This guarantees the permanence and continued availability of cardiology research, even if the journal’s website or platform experiences technical difficulties.
