Review Procedure

The review procedure for the International Journal of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development ensures the publication of high-quality research through a series of meticulous steps. It begins with authors electronically submitting their manuscripts, which should include text, tables, and figures in a single Microsoft Word file. A cover letter is also required, containing the title of the manuscript, details of the authors, and a declaration that the work is original and not under consideration elsewhere.

Upon receipt, the journal office acknowledges the submission and assigns it a unique identification number. The manuscript then undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team to ensure it aligns with the journal's scope and adheres to submission guidelines. This stage also involves a preliminary check for plagiarism using specialized software to ensure the originality of the submission.

Following the initial screening, the manuscript is subjected to a double-blind peer review process. In this process, both the identities of the authors and the reviewers are concealed to prevent bias. The editor-in-chief or associate editors select reviewers who are experts in the field relevant to the manuscript. These reviewers are tasked with providing an objective assessment of the manuscript's scientific merit, originality, and contribution to the field of agricultural extension and rural development.

Reviewers are given specific guidelines to follow during their evaluation. They must assess the relevance and novelty of the research, ensure proper citation of relevant literature, evaluate the appropriateness of the methodology and data analysis, verify that the conclusions are supported by the results, and ensure that the manuscript is clear and comprehensible. They also check for grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors, as well as the accuracy of scientific notations, equations, figures, and references.

Based on their assessment, reviewers provide recommendations on the manuscript. These recommendations can be to:

  • Accept the manuscript if it is well-written, clear, and makes a significant contribution to the field.

  • Request Minor Revisions if the manuscript requires minor changes, such as clarifications or minor edits.

  • Request Major Revisions if the manuscript needs substantial revisions to address significant issues identified by the reviewers.

  • Reject the manuscript if it does not meet the journal's standards or has major flaws.

Once the reviewers have submitted their recommendations, the editor-in-chief or associate editors make the final decision. This decision is based on the reviewers' feedback and their own assessment of the manuscript. Authors are then notified of the decision, and if revisions are required, they are given a deadline to submit the revised manuscript.

Accepted manuscripts undergo final formatting and proofreading to prepare them for publication. The journal adheres to an open access policy, making published articles freely available online to promote greater visibility and citation. This policy ensures that research findings are immediately accessible to the global scientific community.

To uphold high ethical standards, authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and ensure that their work complies with ethical guidelines. The journal follows the Creative Commons Attribution License 4.0, allowing authors to retain copyright while enabling others to build upon their work.

In addition to the standard review procedure, the journal offers a Fast Editorial Execution and Review Process (FEE-Review Process) for a fee. This expedited service ensures a quicker review and publication timeline, accommodating authors who need to disseminate their findings swiftly.

This comprehensive review process ensures that the International Journal of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development publishes high-quality, impactful research, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field
