Instructions for Authors: African Journal of Pig Farming

The African Journal of Pig Farming welcomes submissions of original research articles, review papers, case studies, and short communications that contribute to the understanding and advancement of pig farming practices and related fields. To ensure a smooth and efficient submission process, authors are required to adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Manuscript Preparation: Manuscripts should be prepared in a clear and organized format. Use a standard font (e.g., Times New Roman, 12-point), double-spacing, and include page numbers. The manuscript should be structured as follows: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgments, and References.

  2. Abstract and Keywords: Each manuscript must include a structured abstract of no more than 250 words that summarizes the key objectives, methods, results, and conclusions of the study. Authors should also provide 4-6 relevant keywords to enhance the discoverability of the article.

  3. Citations and References: Authors must ensure that all sources are properly cited in the text and included in the reference list at the end of the manuscript. The journal follows a specific citation style, and authors should consult the journal's guidelines for detailed formatting requirements.

  4. Ethical Considerations: Authors are expected to adhere to ethical standards in research, particularly regarding studies involving human and animal subjects. All necessary ethical approvals must be obtained prior to conducting research, and authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  5. Submission Process: Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal's online submission system. Authors are required to create an account and follow the prompts to upload their manuscript and any supplementary materials. A cover letter outlining the significance of the research and confirming that the manuscript has not been submitted elsewhere should accompany the submission.

  6. Peer Review Process: Upon submission, manuscripts will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts based on reviewer feedback. It is essential for authors to respond to comments constructively and to resubmit their revised manuscripts in a timely manner.

  7. Publication Fees: Authors should be aware of any publication fees associated with their submission. Details regarding fees and payment options can be found on the journal's website.
