Review procedure
The review procedure for the African Journal of Environmental Economics and Management is designed to ensure the publication of high-quality research that significantly contributes to the fields of environmental economics and management. Upon submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial screening by the editorial team to assess its relevance to the journal's scope and adherence to submission guidelines. If the manuscript meets these preliminary criteria, it is then assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers who possess relevant expertise in environmental economics and management.
The review process follows a double-blind format, ensuring that both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other. This approach minimizes bias and promotes an objective evaluation of the research. Reviewers are tasked with critically assessing the manuscript for originality, methodological rigor, clarity, and the significance of the findings. They provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improvement, which may include suggestions for revisions, additional analyses, or clarifications.
Once the review process is complete, the editorial team consolidates the feedback from the reviewers and communicates it to the authors. Authors are given the opportunity to address the reviewers' comments and make necessary revisions before resubmitting their manuscript. The editorial team then makes a final decision regarding publication based on the reviewers' evaluations and the authors' responses.
This comprehensive review procedure not only enhances the quality of published articles but also fosters a collaborative environment for researchers in the fields of environmental economics and management. By adhering to this rigorous process, the African Journal of Environmental Economics and Management aims to contribute valuable insights and advancements in sustainable practices, policy development, and economic strategies that address environmental challenges across the African continent.
